CHARMING HOMES THAT FEEL LIKE LOVE

In conversation with a friend:

“One of my dreams is to become a Developer. It’s a word that can hold a lot of negativity. I envision something cute, joyful, warm, welcoming, safe and supportive.
Different income levels and house sizes. Affordable housing that looks like love. Larger, luxury homes that look like love. Detached ADUs and studios accompanying the main house that allow for affordable rentals and balances the cost of a mortgage.

A place that holds the community and supports their physical and mental well being. Access to wellness tools and non-toxic food. Support for mothers — sharing in the role to raise these light beings. Support for elderly — revering them for their wisdom and joy, care-taking them with dignity and respect. It can also create paid jobs within a community. Creating equal access and opportunities for jobs that align with someone’s unique gifts, by bringing together different experiences of privilege—so income levels aren’t separated. Connecting people with different backgrounds and cultures.

Owning your own home so you can change it and make it a reflection of yourself. It allows you privacy and a safe place to retreat to and quiet the mind. Or a place to host. Allows you to tend to your own personal investment and build an asset to pass down to your next generation or to sell for a profit and allow you to build wealth/security.

A community gathering place for weddings, funerals, a picnic, a yoga session, a grief release group. A shared thrift store, woodshop, art gallery, a coffee cart. A community wellness center. Reiki, massage, yoga, dance, chiropractic therapy, lymphatic & fascia therapy, mental support groups/resources, hyperbaric oxygen treatments.

Partial farmland owned by a family or individual who is passionate about feeding their community non-toxic food and using regenerative methods to care for the land. Gardens and orchards to connect with plants and natural cycles. Access and knowledge of plant medicine.

A place to feel safe, loved and supported, while also allowing you to retreat and live separately when it’s time to go inward.”

ABOUT

Kim Hoppe uses Architecture & Interior Design to evoke feelings of comfort, joy, nostalgia & love. Much of her inspiration comes from 1930’s era homes with charming proportions, sweet detailing and a quiet simplicity. Vibrant colors and murals, that still feel grounded and connected to nature, are integrated with natural textures and minimal lines to create a sense of peace and joy. She views these projects much like her paintings on canvas while adding her knowledge of space planning, drafting, construction drawings, site plans and practical building methods that she’s cultivated over the past 15 years working on residential remodels and new construction projects.

Our everyday lives and moods are affected by the spaces we live in. The frequency of color and the beauty of a space can lift our spirits and quiet the mind. A house should feel like a hug, like being held, making you feel safe and loved so you can be yourself.
