About

Kim Hoppe is a mixed-race Japanese-American Artist currently living in Carpinteria, CA who uses Art, Architecture and Interior Design to express her visions of love, beauty and the meaning of home. Born in Idaho, Hoppe’s family history includes her grandmother’s incarceration at the Minidoka concentration camp during World War II — a legacy that subtly informs her work as she recognizes the deeply felt need for belonging and acceptance. Her works become sites of safety, abundance, and joy — places that feel both intimate and universal, inviting viewers into a shared emotional space of beauty and familiarity, where the body can rest and where all are welcome.

“Home is not just a physical place but a feeling stitched together through memory, resilience, and imagination. Hoppe’s use of familiar, comforting motifs serves as a quiet act of preservation — a way to hold onto tenderness in the face of uncertainty. Each painting becomes a kind of offering: a reminder that even as landscapes shift and stability wavers, the essence of home can still be cultivated and shared.”
